Fantasy
FLASH VERSION

Editorial

Luckily, it has always been there, right from the days of our earliest memories. It was the magic of our childhood, coming alive in books, films, illustrations and toys. It was normal for superheroes to fly; not at all strange that animals could talk. It was an ingenuous fantasy and maybe a little silly, but it filled our minds with imagination and, surely, helped us mature with a certain wisdom. Now, as our world becomes slowly unbearable, or our list of unfulfilled ambitions causes us to see our daily world through narrowing blinkers, fantasy helps us survive. Fantasy fully deserves an issue.

This is an issue that -in the printed edition- deals with the magic of dreams and fairytales yet also broaches a prosaic kind of fantasy -one, for example, that transforms us into irresistible millionaires. An issue containing ten content pieces and 104 pages, in which 29 collaborators have participated and where the graphic resource was illustrations formed from points of light. In this issue we have highlighted two articles for the digital edition. In the first, signed by Coast, a Belgian graphic design studio, the creative process becomes the content itself. The second is a series of four photos combined with illustration by the Japanese photographer Namiko Kitaura which breathes sensibility and fantasy.
